My Oops and a Consolation Prize

Any of you who get blog updates from a reader or feed probably saw that I posted a giveaway just an hour ago....and now it's gone.

Apparently, giveaways are not allowed in conjunction with this contest. Oops.

And I can't shake the feeling that this is somehow related to the fact that I took Silas to school yesterday only to discover that there was no school yesterday. Or any Wednesdays ever, starting this week. Oops.

I'm left to conclude that if you want me to see something important, simply writing it down and handing it to me is not good enough. I have now reached a stage in life where getting my attention requires neon light or sky-writing.

'Tis not good.
Not at all.

My profound apologies for all of you hoping for the Acai beads.

Truth is, I still need your vote today and every day through Monday.*

But all I can give you is this, my favorite photo from the garden we visited last weekend in Ohio and the promise of my enduring, unflappable love.

See that little bench hiding down in the corner? Meet me there and we'll sun our shins and get intoxicated together on honeysuckle bliss. Maybe I'll do a little reading, since I'm prone to being awkward like that.

Thanks for putting up with me.
Pray for my children.

(What day is this? What's my name?),
Shannan. I think.

*Word on the street says it's much simpler and glitch-free if you vote from an actual computer rather than a mobile device!

  1. Well, I know it doesn't make you feel any better, but I think that just comes with getting older. Neon lights might not work either. I know from experience.

  2. yikes! sorry. i used to try to force my way in to our local library on Thursdays. our library is on main street. the only street in town that gets any decent amount of car & foot traffic. i had a jumbo red wagon full of toddlers. they began to recognize the sign in the window that said CLOSED. The real question is how did Silas feel about NO school?

  3. Beautiful picture! No trouble voting from a regular computer - didn't even require neon lights or sky writing : )
