I woke early with unexpected hope in my chest, ever-thankful that I am not in charge of plotting the course of the Universe. This is the peace I find when life gets confusing or uncertain. It is never up to me. God's authority excites me. I like being reminded that He's the Boss Supreme.
So, this is a day for lazing and lingering. It's a day for stirring prayers into steaming mugs of tea. It's a day for pointing shortish people with wonder-filled eyes toward the only thing we ever know for sure.
We can trust Him.
Every single day.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
-Matthew 6:10
He's my Only Hope and I'm SO okay with that.
ReplyDeleteAnd Amen.
ReplyDeleteLove you. Woke up with "We All Bow Down" by Lenny LeBlanc in my heart. He reigns--and one day we'll ALL bow down and call him King. Yee Haw!
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteStanding on the ROCK!!! Love HIM!!!
ReplyDeleteYes and Amen.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness He is in control. That's what got me out of bed this morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I cried the tears I needed to over this post.
ReplyDeleteYes ...
ReplyDelete"Stirring prayers into steaming mugs"? You've just lowered my blood pressure by like a million percent. I feel like I went to the spa.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh. I was waiting to exhale.
Blessings, blessings, blessings, FPFG.
Oh, me too. Such a phrase. Again, I cannot wait for that book. Thank you, Shannan

ReplyDeleteWe can trust Him and His timing is perfect! Can I just tell you that through a series of events ONLY orchestrated by Him I found Rhodesia today? AND I had all kinds of stuff in my car....just waiting for this encounter. She was the happiest about the blanket, pillow and brand new underwear!
ReplyDeleteGO GOD!
Please keep these Rhodesia updates coming! I love 'em.
Deleteamen sister! :)
ReplyDeleteamen. i KNOW these things to be Truth, yet still i mourn for the blessings we have forfeited by removing Him from our country and for replacing Truth with sin and selfish desires.
ReplyDeletehowever, i am determined now more than ever, to spread the Gospel and His Good News of Hope to all those He puts in my path!
that's what He's really wanted all along, right?
Oh Shannon how i wish these had been my own thoughts when I woke this morning. Thank you for putting them in my head and reminding me of just Who's really in charge here!
ReplyDeletethankful that we can trust him and that he is king over all....
ReplyDeleteI was reminded last night, no matter who is in the White House, all that matters is who is KING.
ReplyDeleteNeeded this...and you know why. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe can trust Him.
ReplyDeleteTrue that, dear.
And now I've teared up for the 100th time today...
i've cried a lot today, i'll be honest. but He's saving me, each day, all the more, forcing me to Trust in new ways.
ReplyDeleteAmen, amen, amen...oooohhhh, amen, amen, amen! Stumbled across I Timothy 2:1-2. Trust, obey and pray, pray, pray!
ReplyDeletethis is soooo true. There are things my flesh secretly (and not so secretly) wants to control, but praise God that he is in control. He is good and just and not tempted by a fickle heart! And praise God he has given us his Word and Holy Spirit to remind us of these things.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why, but this made me cry. A lot.
ReplyDeleteSo, thanks for that.
:)
ReplyDeleteYes, and amen. My hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ, not the President. These events did not surprise our Lord. I am bad about trying to "fix" things on me on and thinking that I am in control. I too have been reminded that its not up to me. And I am so thankful for that! Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteYES!!!! THIS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you. I needed to hear that today.
ReplyDeleteJust want to repeat all the previous hearty AMENS! Your words are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHe is able. I love that about Him. <3
ReplyDeleteyour recent declaration of diminished interest in red had me wondering if you had completely switched parties, which i couldn't imagine seeing the depth of your faith. guess i got my answer. :)
ReplyDeleteas to your post. AMEN! God is in control & we are not. i'm glad for that.
We can trust Him. I am hanging on to this and claiming it for loved ones in a way I never thought imaginable. We CAN trust Him. We can trust HIM.
