On The Town

We went on a real, live date tonight.

We hired a babysitter. Two of them, if you really must know.

I wore earrings and mascara.

First, we did a little Top Shelf retail therapy from the clearance racks of Target.

I scored a dress, a shirt, a pair of shoes, a pair of socks and a magazine for $40 total.

Since this was a real date and all, we went to a real dinner at an amazing local restaurant, Kelly Jae's Cafe.

It was gusty.

But oh, the food.

It could nearly make you weep, the food.

The light was low and the good camera was in the car, but it bears showing.

After dinner, we walked across the street to The Electric Brew.

Our friend's band, Wilson's Reservoir, was playing.
This was my first time hearing them, and I was blown away.

I would hereby like to declare Alt/Country/Folk my official genre.

I can dig a song that makes you wanna stomp and sway.

I can get lost in a country road lyric.

Check them out here. (Too Too Bad. Oh yes.)

I had one of those moments, tonight. The kind that tops me off with contentment and joy and down-low peace.

I'm thankful for my friends.

Cory is a heck of a date.

I love my life.

And also?

German chocolate brownies.
