Adoption Guest Post - The Lettered Cottage

Are you sick of me yet??

It's been a busy blog day.

Just wanted to let you know that I wrote an Adoption guest post for the magnificent Layla (though I prefer to call her El Camino) over at The Lettered Cottage. El and Kevin are embarking on an adoption journey of their own and it has been so much fun to relive our experiences through them.

Consider my post the 20th installment of the Big Adoption Series. Click here to check it out.

Kevin and Layla sittin' in a tree.
I mean...Kevin and Layla walkin' in a field.
..

Then brew twelve pots of coffee, put on your easy britches and hunker down to take a look at the rest of their jaw-droppingly gorgeous blog. Hers was one of the first blogs I fell in love with a couple of years ago and you will see why, although I'm pretty sure you already know, because you strike me as quite insightful and in-the-know. These cats ooze style and talent, and their kind hearts make the beauty of their home (oh, it's so pretty!) pale in comparison.

Thank you, El, for giving me the opportunity to share from my heart.

I promise I'll shut up now...at least until tomorrow.

xoxo

  1. Hi, Shannan, I've stopped by here before, but don't think I've said hello. So nice to meet you, I'm friends with Layla too (love that girl!) & wanted to tell you that your post over there is just beautiful. I had to stop by & see your kids & read more. What a great story, you're a wonderful writer. I've really enjoyed my visit!

  13. I too fell in love with blog, the first blog I ever clicked on, and never looked back. I am praying for them as they begin their journey along the adoption path. Tomorrow I celebrate with a friend who just found out she is able to keep her little guy, after a bit of a scare. So many of our friends have been through this process and it has been so much fun to witness the love and excitement along the way. I am sure you are a blessing to them, as you share your experiences. God Bless! ~ Molly

  14. Yea! I started reading your blog because of the big adoption series and have really been missing it. (of course I love all the other hilarious stuff you write as well :)) My husband and I are in the process of adopting our first two children right now and a friend recommended your blog because she knew I would love it. And I did and I do.

  16. Shannon,

Thank you for sharing your story -- the only thing more beautiful than the words you write is the love you have for all of your children.

    Your Friend,

  20. Another fantastic chapter in this series, Shannan. The way you write it, one can feel Silas' pain when you first took him. It's an awful feeling! I'm so glad that he is totally loved by you and Cory. His little heart seems mostly healed. I love the mischief in his eyes. Love it!
