I am Currently Obsessed with This Song

Warning: It's kinda sad.

But it's shot so beautifully and her voice is like melted caramel and I promise - you will be singing it for the rest of the night.

Off to Mazatlan for dinner! I'll scarf an extra basket of chips just for you.

Fondly,
FPFG

  12. I love it, too. The video is reminiscent of Anne of Green Gables so that makes me love it even more.

  15. I love that song too. Her voice is beautiful.

I hope your margarita isn't as big as mine was tonight. Otherwise you will come home a smidge tipsy like me. Of course you won't have a teenage daughter to make fun of you and torture you and ridicule you. Unruly gang indeed.

  17. Been hearing this one for a bit now but hadn't seen a video. Very sweet and sad too like so many country songs. However I don't agree that there is ever "enough time".

  18. I am currently the portal to iTunes and all things music for my niece. Every so often she gives me a list of songs to buy and I download them to her iPod. Most of the time I don't pay much attention. This last week I put my iTunes Library on shuffle and to my surprise this song came on. The words were beautiful and engaging. When I looked to see when it had been purchased I found it smack dab in the middle of my niece's purchased songs. Who knew the student would become the teacher. I am proud that my 13 year old niece has such a beautiful ear for music.

  19. Oh good I'm not alone! I thought I was sort of dark and twisty for liking this song so much. The singer has such a beautiful voice and the lyrics are so creative! Love their "Hip to my Heart" song too :)

  20. It is so different when it comes on the radio. I heard it a lot in the combine earlier this fall. It has an interesting message.

  21. Oh this has been a keep since the first time I heard it. If is a macabre message with upbeat undertones. Love it.

  22. Okay I love this song too. I actually heard their band on the radio and I believe they are all siblings - they sounded like such a cool group. Really down to earth and sweet.
I am so touched by this song and when I heard it I thought of all those who needed it to ease some pain of their loved one gone to soon.
Thanks for sharing the video it was pretty!

  23. Shannan!!! What!! OK, I like the song all well and fine but you get the whole Tennyson, Lady of Shallot reminds me of Anne of GG. When Anne does her little rendition and the boat sinks. Anyone who does an homage to Anne is rad in my book. OK, maybe it was more a Tennyson reference but whatever...:) Yes, I'm a nerd. Happy Mexican Food Night.

  25. 1.) you need to eat a WHOLE basket of chips with salsa goodness just for me and then you can have one for yourself....I'm pregnant remember.

2.) That song is haunting, beautiful and rock'n (the girl has curlyish hair...curly hair rocks...okay, so I only think this because I have curly hair).

3.) Long live Ann of Green Gables

  26. love it too... I actually wrote a blog post about it the first time I heard it :)

  27. this song always makes me pause...so haunting...

  28. I had never heard of them until the CMA's tonight. The video reminds me of Anne of Green Gables--The Lady of Shallot. I am a special kind of nerd ;~))

  30. I LOVE this song!! I agree, it's kinda dark, but the words are just brilliantly and beautifully chosen!

  31. I love that song too! Saw them on the CMA's last night...but I agree, it is sad.

  32. Mehican food? Without us? Were there any sombreros involved?
Did you get my email? The one with the chia reference?
So many questions, so little time.

  33. I don't know how sad it is compared to morbid ... i mean the boat scene? Is she coming back from the dead? Kinda creepy Garber ... kinda creepy.

    Nonetheless, the song is great.

  34. I can barely listen to that song - it was on right after we found out about Ollie, and it makes me cry every stinking time!

    I love chips - it's 9:42 and now I'm hungry!

  38. They've been on FOX and Friends in the morning twice since the summer, and I love 'em. They are the cutest... AND they're brothers and sister, ya know! How fun.

I like her purdy blond curly hair.

  39. Glad to know you like this song, too. When I first heard it in August, it was the day after my OB found a lump in my breast. My crazy mind went down the twisted road and I planned out my whole funneral with the inspiration of this song. It was a romantic funeral, though. The video is like a modern day Anne of Green Gables scene.

  41. They played that song at the celebration ceremony of a local 17 year old girl going home to be with Jesus. So weird to see the video, as it was just going through my head at dinner. Beautiful.
