Flower Patch Farmfamily Pics

I have this friend. Her name is Teresa, but Ruby calls her Atresha and I call her Benji or T-Bone or Benny Ha Ha. Same diff.

She lives three connections away, but she came to visit me in September.

I twisted her arm into taking some family photos for us while she was here.

I did not have outfits planned. I did not have appropriate shoes for Sweet Cheeks. I forgot to feed my kids dinner. I took so long to figure out wardrobe that our sunlight was cut short.

And still?

She conjured up some lovely for us.

Homegirl showed us and the universe who was boss. If you found Julia Child and pried the dutch oven from her enormous hands, replacing it with a Fancy Canon, you'd have T-Rex. She's charming and largely self-taught and twirls magic out of thin air like spun sugar at the carnival.

Can you tell I'm happy with the photos?

This one is my favorite.

On second thought, this one.

I like to call this one, "The Farmer Takes a Wife".

I don't know why, I just do. Even though Cory's not a farmer and we don't even look especially farmerish here and heck, this one wasn't even taken at our farm. But I am his wife, and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Incidentally, the two shirts I'm wearing in this shot just so happen to be the very shirts that narrowly escaped a disastrous fate on the platform of the Gary South Shore. {shudder}

Oooh! This one is my favorite!

I will miss you, rock wall and tumble-down hill and barn-too-dangerous-to-trespass.

Have I ever introduced you to my boys?

They're the cat's pajamas.

I believe this was taken while I was still inside, buried beneath a medium-sized mountain of small, not-quite-right boots and shoes. Shortly thereafter, we forced a wardrobe change on the two biggest dudes. They rolled with it. I think they saw a glint of crazy in T's eyes.

Step. Away. From. The. Crazy.

Benj was to Pie Pot like a snake-charmer to a cobra.

He was transfixed and angelic.

I'm pretty sure she didn't believe me that he's a danged difficult baby sometimes.

Hate when that happens.

What you wouldn't know on your own, is that it was half-past dusk when this shot was taken. I think she uses a special voodoo camera. If only the special voodoo camera could feed little people dinner...

This was one of the last shots of the night and it really is my very favorite. Ruby rocks my world here. Classic Her.

Although, I don't know, I'm pretty partial to this one, too.

But this one? This one is my most favorite of all.

Or maybe it's this one.

Or this one.
