But so dreamy and so much fun and so blessid worth it.

We showered at my place, beneath the Maples.

Plan B: Grocery store tulips and roses mixed with anything we found blooming in our respective yards. Lois and Holly made those flowers beg for mercy as they whipped them into eleventh-hour masterpieces. I could not have imagined anything more beautiful. And thrifty!
The menu: A sandwich I invented, the Fun Salad, Donna's divine potato salad, and cheese/crackers/grapes. With Loey's rhubarb punch.
The sweet stuff.
(Just one hour prior, we were a gaggle of cackling chickens - sans heads.)
Sarah Jane, I have loved you since the day I met you. Thank you for requiring/insisting/demanding that I be your friend. I would have surely come to the same conclusion on my own, but some risks just aren't worth taking.
Also, thank you for marrying R. I really like him.

"measly shower planner"?!?!? I think not, my friend. I felt like I was at a shower directly out of {insert name of your favorite decor mag here}. Seriously, you swooned me and I wasn't even the guest of honor!
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering why Ralphie didn't get a mention in this post. ;)
Come on, now. How amazing was that? Just amazing! Did you wear a headset like J Lo in the movie?? I want to have the leftovers and I don't even like leftovers. But, i would definitley like it this time. :)

ReplyDeleteswoony with a capital "S"! Gorgeous! Magazine-spread worthy!
ReplyDeleteWell, first off. I wish you hadn't felt it necessary to deem the title of this post, Ozzy's shower and I'm not sure how I feel about all of your blog friends now calling me Ozzy on a regular basis, which is what I fear. But, as for the photos, and event itself, you more than rocked my socks off, you rocked everything off (figuratively speaking!). I truly and wholeheartedly loved it, more than loved it. I adored it. I swooned in it. I drank it up. It passed by way too quickly and it really does have me fearing the wedding will pale in comparison, say what you will. Just sorry I'll never marry again, so you can throw me another one...and no comments on a baby shower! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a swoony shower! You guys did a great job :) I love that your bestie demanded you to be her friend. I did the same thing to my bestie - she thanks me now for hunting her down every day on the school bus to sit by her!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Wow. You throw an exquisite party!! I bet it was wonderful and FUN! :) Ozzy's lucky to have you!!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and beautiful, you did a great job, what a lucky girl to have such a great party.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful party! I love it! I love a party thrown at home over any other kind. It means more to everyone involved.
ReplyDeleteWOW...it loooks WONDERFUL!!! I love the idea of it being outside. You did such a great job! They are a ton of fun to plan but then when it comes down to the "doing" part, thats where I always go a little crazy haha. You've got me itching to plan something now! :)
ReplyDeleteJana
Watch out wedding planners! Seriously, it looked amazing! You could paste those photos in any magazine and I would buy it! But, more importantly, how blessed are you to have such sweet life long friends. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteShannan, the shower was simply perfect! Country chic just like our Sarah Jane! I can't wait to come back for the wedding! Oh, and Ruby was so great with my Lily! She kept her from turning into a crazy baby!
ReplyDeleteHA!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the name change, I DO appreciate it! :) And I hope you know I was only half-joking! :) I think Sarah Jane's shower does sound much more swoonier, don't you?
ReplyDeleteSarah Jane, the way to seek revenge is to follow her around in blog world and write snarky comments about her comments to other people. I do it to her, and it's so much fun. Of course she may hate me for it, but I can't help myself. I've never met FPFG, but I like to imagine she has a sense of humor that can handle it.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Someone who enjoys a good natured ribbing and thinks you two MAY or MAY NOT use the word "Swoon" an awful lot.
Congratulations by the way.
it all looks so beautiful. magazine worthy. happy wedding to your sweet, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteWow it looks beautiful, I wish we had a place outside to have such a swoony shower! I love the bunting, I need to make one to have on hand for those last minute showers! she is lucky to have you as a friend!
