Kind words are like honey -
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
Proverbs 16:24
I read this verse months ago and I still think about it almost every day. It is truth - pure and sugary. If only I would put this into practice, all the time.
I think that is a worthy goal.
love it too {the verse and honey!}

That should really be hanging in my house somewhere as a lovely reminder.
ReplyDeleteOh yes.. I find that I have "something of the mouth". I sometimes lose my filter and I really need to take a moment and think before I speak. Thank you for the verse. Very visual, very powerful. I love sweetness....
ReplyDeleteSo cute, and true.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite verses :)
ReplyDeleteLove the verse...and love the honey, too! ~mary~
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. This verse would be so nice stitched and framed.
ReplyDeleteSweet!

A very worthy goal.
ReplyDeleteYou are the BEST!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't the world be a better place if we all lived by those words.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Maria
Thank you for the reminder! What a difference everywhere - family, work, around town - when we use kind words with kind voices!
ReplyDeleteNext step, to BE so that they come from a heart full of God's LOVE!
Isn't it amazing how one genuine comment to someone can change a whole situation? Today a checker at Petsmart was not enjoying her job (translation: providing some lackluster customer service) and I sat there thinking about her and her life...the possibilities of what might be causing this attitude. I noticed that she had incredible skin (super smooth like a baby)---funny thing noticing such a thing---but I just blurted out, "You have the most amazing skin! Do you use something special? You just glow." (and I meant it too...no fluffy comments from this one)
ReplyDeleteKnow what?
She brightened immediately and smiled.
Made a nice comment about my ill-behaved Beagle and smiled some more.
Funny.
Made me feel good too.
Great post!

amen! I need to post this verse by my sink so I can be reminded all day long
ReplyDelete'Tis so true.
ReplyDeleteYes its ture we get more done with sweetness!! love that verse
ReplyDeleteAn excellent goal indeed! Thanks for your kind comment on our blog. Heart of Ohio is actually a mall, not a show, so you can go next time you are home! It's in Springfield. xo
ReplyDeleteAmen!!! Wish that is what always came out of my mouth:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet phrase. It just gave me an idea for a stamped card.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, I remember that verse often too --it's definitely a good thing to live by.
ReplyDeleteI need this reminder. I need this on a post it on my steering wheel. I'm a different person when I drive...
ReplyDeleteSo true & so "sweet" too. ((giggles))
ReplyDelete~Lara
you got me there. i need this tatooed somewhere i'll see it all day long!
ReplyDeleteThat one should stick--like honey too.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the main reasons blogging is so appealing...there's so much kindness being dished out...it's completely refreshing...in the "real" world, sadly, a kind word is often hard to come by...
ReplyDeleteHopin you have a wonderful weekend ~
:) T
Great verse to live by!
ReplyDeleteI love the valentine's wreath you made. What a great idea.
I read your whole grocery list post. Do I win a prize? Just kidding! I started "couponing" in Oct and it has totally changed our grocery budget and the way I shop. I save over 50% on things I normally paid full price for in the past. I even get things that previously seemed too expensive. I use a site called southernsavers.com but since you are not in the south, I am sure there are others that would do all the hard work for you in your neck of the woods!
I think you're right:) a very worthy goal. Thank you for this post.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Elizabeth
What is in the heart comes out the mouth.
ReplyDeleteI should keep mine shut more often.

I agree! Have you noticed on TV lately (even the kiddy shows) how sarcasm and cynicism is in full force. Even on commercials you seen kids talking to each other and their parents in ways that would have caused my grandmother to beat me with a hickory stick! Yeah - that verse takes on a new meaning for me in this day and age.
ReplyDeleteI just read in your profile that you are bringing your 3rd child home from S. Korea! Our first 2 children were born in S. Korea...one of the best experiences of our lives! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Love that ♥ wreath :0), The lady of the House
ReplyDeleteThank you. These are certainly words to live by!
ReplyDeleteAnother small honey fact - it does not go bad. It does not spoil. Archaeologist T.M. Davies discovered 3,300-year-old jar of honey in an Egyptian tomb. To his amazement, the honey was in remarkably good condition.
ReplyDeleteNot only should your words be sweet, but may, in fact, have eternal significance.
My words have been sweet all day long! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great verse and so hard to live by sometimes! Thanks for the reminder to start out my week. Hope you have a good one...
