Strawberry Peach Pie

I love peaches. Peaches and raspberries. Peaches and blueberries. Peaches and strawberries? Now that is a combination I have never considered. And I have no idea why. In hindsight, it seems so right.

My friend Carla told me last week about this pie and I knew I had to track it down. She remembered that it came from Taste of Home magazine, which was all I really needed to know. Thank you very much, Google. (Sidenote: Am I the only one who wonders how women cooked in the olden days, before Google existed? )

This pie was intended to employ a graham cracker crust, but I was out of graham crackers and couldn't wait another day to make it. The strawberries were ripe. The clock was ticking. And it really was fate that destined the whole dern thing, as I just so happened to have three overly ripe peaches withering away on my counter top.

All you do is mix one package of cream cheese with 1/4 cup of sugar and 1T milk. Spread that onto the crust of your choosing. Top with sliced peaches. Top that with strawberries mixed with glaze. Ta da!

I have to say, I'm a big believer in using the actual pie crust. Graham cracker crusts can be overly sweet and this pie benefited from the more neutral flavor of the old stand-by.

Now, go out into the world and make ye this pie! But hurry - those berries won't be around forever.
